Cradle Wrapped Sea Glass Pendants
(with Artist, Cheryl Perez)
Saturday, April 29 from 10:00am - 3:00pm
This class will provide students with the materials and knowledge to make two cradle wrapped sea glass pendants with cord. Students will learn how to bend, mold and shape wire to create their own design using a colorful piece of sea glass as the centerpiece. Each student will have a variety of sea glass to choose from and options to dress up their pieces. The combination of hand selected sea glass, from the wild beaches of Puerto Rico, and personal design work with wire makes for a wonderful handmade jewelry gift for you or a friend!
Supplies include all materials needed to make two cradle wrapped sea glass pendants and a cord to complete the necklace. Each student will also receive a tool kit to take home. Note: Please bring your own magnified glasses if needed. Lunch is not supplied so please feel free to bring a bagged lunch, or something to snack on.
Your instructor will be Cheryl Perez of Cristales del Mar (Glass from the Sea). Cheryl has been making jewelry for multiple years, specializing in Sea Glass Jewelry. She travels annually to Puerto Rico where she collects glass fragments from some of the most rural, and wild tide beaches on the island. She uses them in her jewelry design and as inspiration for other contemporary pieces. The Roycroft Copper Shop Gallery carries a variety of uniquely designed necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings personally created by Cheryl Perez.
