Artisans' Bios

As a writer, I was thrilled when I discovered calligraphy because it allowed me to do something visual with words. Over the past 30 years I have studied with a number of nationally known calligraphers through conferences and workshops and continue to be fascinated with the wide range of possibilities this art form offers. The marks that the huan hand can make have the power to convey so much! I hold two degrees in English literature and worked as a writer in advertising and marketing for many years. More recently I have been an assistant professor at Erie Community College and a frequent instructor at adult education courses. In February 2006 I received designation as a Roycroft artisan in the area of Text Arts.
