Kristine Baker      Roycroft Renaissance Artisan                                                                          click pictures to enlarge                         Kristine Baker grew up in the Los Angeles area of California.  Kristine holds a Masters of Education degree with certificates in Art and English and has taught at every level.  Having lived abroad in both Europe and Mexico City, Kristine settled in Upstate New York.  While working as a color analyst, she was introduced to painting on silk.       Kristine says, “I suppose the rest is history … I am totally in love with color and silk!  Silk painting is spontaneous and unpredictable; there are effects possible that cannot be achieved either with oils or watercolors.  The medium stands alone.” Kristine has been painting on silk for over twenty-five years, is currently represented by four galleries/shops and was recently awarded the designation of a Roycroft Renaissance Artisan in fiber/textiles.
